ADVERTS
Yup works fine with Dish...
But does not work good with DirecTV as it does not do HD as it can't receive the KA signals.

For $600 and some change I would get one. I could stay camping longer then 3 days then.

It looks like you could get one for around $500 now -- they are cheaper on Best Buy and Amazon than they are at RadioShack and some of the other online retailers.

You could get a used dish tripod and a meter and spend 5 min setting it up for about 100
VIP722 + VIP222
Dish 500 + Modified Superdish for 129 + Modified Super Dish for 61.5 + DPP44
Sony KDF-42A10 42"LCD HDMI
Mitsubishi VS-50111 50" Rear Projection
Home Theather - To much to list

From what I read in the posts above it looks like the
VuQube
can only receive one satellite at a time, provided this is the case I do not think any of the Dish receivers would be able to change satellites without a switch check - takes about 10 min on my VIP 222 so it would not be very practical. You could however set it up on 61.5 or 129w for HD and receive most of the channels.
Another thing to look into is if the LNB is band stacked. All the current Dish receivers work with bacn stacked, not sure if they would work with a legacy LNB.
Hope this helps, DC

I totally understand it can not look at more then 1 Sat at time. I was wondering if it can move by itself to those spots. If the same dish can be repointed to look at all sats Dish has and per Scotts info it looks like it can move and look at the Sats.

We sell VuQubes and I think they work pretty great. We stock 2 models. Started carrying them after we talked to them at team summit last year. The only thing they do not work well with are dual tuner receivers and they state that in their install instructions. As for pointing to satellites, it only points at one at a time but it switches on it's own.

I have a motor home with a satellite dish made by the same company that is essentially the same as the Vuqube, except for the portable part. Even though it can only see a single satellite at a time, it can switch between them on command from the receiver. I have used a 311 and a 211. Both work without a problem (provided I am not parked under a tree).
I have looked at the Vuqube, but I am not sure I want to spend the money for it. If I am under a tree, I don't watch satellite. I'm OK with that.

Yeah, they had them at my local Best Buy and they can switch satellites....you can switch via the remote. I found this online. It looks like you can control both elevation and dish rotation with the remote.....
