sounds like a legacy dual wing dish...if so, it wont work for you.
edit: well, it would i guess for locals only, provided its pointed at the right sat. but it may be pointed at 61.5--this space intentionally left blank

A Dual will plug straight in with a single wire.
You didn't mention which dish your contemplating. The Dual is designed to be used with a Dish 300 or a 30" single dish.
You must have a purple access card if the 322 is more than two years old or so.

Its a Dish 500 with a DP digital LNBF. Get cable run from dish directly to 322. Its a single lnb for locals. The 322 boots up with message 129 to call Dish to activate receiver. Bought it on eBay, supposedly new. Being sold as surplus being sold because Dish Flex ended and didn't have a smart card but screen showed a S19 number.
Called Dish Friday. After awhile csr says can't activate 322. Call back in 24 hours. Called back Saturday, csr transfers me to a specialist. I explain I want locals since Dish did away with their low priced packages; welcome and family pack. The specialist tells me they still have them. I need to sign up for the welcome pack and make first payment $15.89. Dish needs to start account so I can get a smart card for total with shipping, tax $68 which they bill to first month.
I was suprised that Dish still offered the Welcome Pack and thought I would share that info. And yes, I know I need a dual LNBF which I can get easily.
