Dish CSR please comment on mixed arc set-up for Puerto Rico and USVI customers
ADVERTS 1
As you know we can only get signals from 110, 119 and 61.5 satellites. As you seem to be moving everyone to and EA or WA.set up. We are loosing our premium HD off the 61.5. How is Dish going to address this problem or are we going to have to pay for channels we no longer get.
Any insight would be appreciated

We are trying to move satellites. I can definitely check and see if we have anything special available for our PR/VI customers. Would you mind PMing me the account #?

I hope I am not stepping on anyones toes here, but I dont know if the DISH IRT folks will be able to answer this one as I am guessing they haven't been told yet whats going on.
Most reps dont get told things until after they happen.
In fact it wouldn't surprise me if many of these guys find out about these moves here at SatelliteGuys first then they do from their own employer.
The guys we have here probably wouldn't even want to guess as they are trying to give out 100% accurate information.
With that said I know that PR is a very important market for DISH so I have my ear to the ground and will report back on what I hear as soon as I hear it.

I only have one question: Why not put the HD channels we (PR customers) are missing out of the 119/110 traditional PR setup on 61.5 so that we could get them? Anyhow we are paying the same as CONUS customers. When at last we have good access to three sats (last year when they put the new sat on 61.5) they decide to throw the HD out of the 61.5. And the ones on 61.5 are blacked out (shown red on the guide) like if we were not paying for them.

Your not stepping on any ones toes, would just like some answers. I was getting ready to add a 4 ft dish for the 61.5 to get my missing channels, then all the moves started. I just don't think it unreasonable to get the programing you pay for when you sign a contract.

Ouh my feet hurts. haha I don't think you are stepping on any ones toes either. My neighbors and I are just voicing our frustration over this mess, with the hope that someone high enough hear us. I'm glad that we have this place, just to do that.

Scott is worried about stepping on IRT toes since he was sorta/kinda answering for them.

Scott; as ever, we are grateful for your input and knowledge. Hope this gets to a happy solution for all of us here at PR (and USVI). (As an example, we are not even getting all of our mapdowns correctly. e.g., To watch Cinemax-E in HD we have to go to the 4923, since it is not mapping down to 310).

According to the CSR's we are not even supposed to have the 61.5 dish down here. So the question is how are we supposed to get all our programing

Looking at this press release http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-net...ml#post1915565 from DISH Network does seem to indicate that it is a one DISH solution.
I don't know if 61.5 was ever an officially supported location in PR.
Where is our pal Nel who would have a better memory on this stuff then I do. I hope he sees this and chimes in.Scott
