722 / L677 Problem
ADVERTS 1
Got 677 a couple days ago.
Since then most (but not all) of the Dish On Demand options give me the "Attention 789 This feature is available only if your receiver is connected to your broadband..."
Reciever is definately online - I can Sling just fine.
If I go into network setup and "reset connection" then things will work for a while.
Anyone else seen this?

Mine loses it all the time. Menu/6/3 will show Broadband as being "connected", but it takes a Menu/6/1/9/1/2 reset to get it to clear the warning and allow streaming.

I do not have this problem on my 722/L677, nor on my 612's. D-link WirelessN router w/GigE on both sides and through all switches in the house. All receivers hardwired.

well then you HAVE been run on the gauntlet of Dish support..
I do love to poke at dish sorry..
... and that you can sling without a problem.. thus the network itself is not dropping .. any chance that your firewall/router is logging any denial of service attacks? or logging strange packets?
and the receiver is that on the same network (ip-wise) ... its not segmented, multihomed, etc (though again that would normally cause sling not to work too) ... is your dish receiver keeping the same IP every time you check it?
On the inbound connectivity side .. the thinking is if something is nixing the inbound from Dish that logs receiver status ... which would more likely be unrelated to Sling's connections (Dish Remote Access was alive before sling ever entered the picture) such that something might be dropping packets (maybe on purpose because it thinks its invalid, etc)
Just to confirm there were no changes to the network either.. no new router, no firmware change, no new wired/wireless devices, and you're not seeing any other internal networking related problems (some app on my sister's or house mate's iphones suddenly started causing riffs in the wireless here... so I moved them onto another router and that quieted everything back down again)
Just throwing out ideas...

I would like to inject this thread into the mix, as it pertains to the next release -688, which has made the problems increasingly worse. Come on Dish!
