HOLY COW prices have gone way up!!!! I bought two of this EHD last year.
Newegg.com - Western Digital Elements 1TB Desktop External Hard Drive
I bought both from Newegg, one in May and the other in August, each time the price was $69.99. The exact same drive is now $129.99, almost DOUBLE!!! This hard drive works great. It is small, quite and has tons of room.

If I enable the EHD on my 211, can I swap EHDs between a 612 and the 211 to watch recordings?

I use a Thermaltake BlacX docking station
Newegg.com - Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station 2.5” & 3.5” USB 2.0 & eSATA
with a 622 and have never had any problems. Currently $27.82 after rebate of $10.
I have several sata hard drives of various brands laying around and I can change the drive with a push of a button. I use the esata connection with my computer when I need it. They do make one with only usb though.
