Does anyone know if E* will be carrying National Geographic HD? Also, does E* still allow people to sign up for their service, but only subscribe to the HD channels?

NG HD is not yet on the air. I haven't heard any plans yet of anyone picking it up. Yes, you can subscribe to the HD only as long as you own the equipment.

NG HD would be a great one to have. Like Sean said, Dish hasn't said anything about launching but I don't see Dish passing this one up for long.

I believe in the future we will see some of the less popular channels in a lower resolution such as the shopping channels and channels in the 9000's that are required by law to be broadcasted such as the learning channels.
Wasn't there a bill drafted that would require satellite and cable companies to transmit locals in their original format from the source? If not then they could transmit the less popular ones in a lower resolution as well. By doing this that would be like them compressing the current SD stations today.

Other Forums censored its members and were quite successful at convincing them HD-Lite wasn't like kissing your ugly sister at all...it was just a matter of acquired tastes; besides... most HDTVs don't know the difference anyway.

2. D* subscribers terminate their subscription and sign up with E* or Cable
3. D* subscribers actively voice their displeasure like E*/VOOM HD Pak members did here on the Dish Network Forum.
Of course, I wouldn't kick up your heals about HD-Lite at some of those other sites since you are bound to be ridiculed by Admins who will modify and/or delete your posts.

Speaking of new HD, Isnt MHD, MTV's new HD channel, supposed to launch in early January, around CES time too?
Not that it would be terribly high on my wish list, but seems like I read the launch was coming soon.
