Looks like some changes been made to the Qualification software for DNHD

    ADVERTS 1
I just decided to run the qualification again at DTV website and for once my address is correct(sorta). About 3 months ago when I typed my address in for Vermont they said I could pull NBC and ABC from manchester NH. About 65Miles away and 2 big mtn ranges. There was no way in gods green earth i could. And also said I could get CBS from about 30 miles away yet my local CBS affiliate isnt even doing HD OTA only a feed to adelphia cable company. But now it only says I can get CBS. Which is still false LOL. Heres the site if you want to try it out for yourself. I can honestly say if dish dont get thier act together with thier HD package Ill go DTV cause at least with them I can get DNHD service something that dish only offers CBS and to which the CBS affiliate wont give a waiver to dish only to directv.

He didn't post the link, but I also don't understand why a D* discussion would be in the E* section?

and I put it in the Dish forum just for people to be able to do a update check for HD DNS since Dish doesnt have one out yet. Even though im sure its going to be the same for both DTV and dish so thats why I posted here. If the mods think this is wrong then they can move it. Jezzz.......

Up to two months ago I qualified for all four DNHD (and I do have them now). I went and put my address now and it say that I only qualify for Fox!!! I don't know how do they know anyway what location get digital signal or not. IN my case I can't get anything at all cause I live in the mountains in a valley area surrounded by pine trees. And, as far as I'm aware all trees are still around me!!!!

LOL I just put my address in for the heck of it.

    ABCKHGI-DT Grade A (strong signal)
    CBSKOLN-DT Grade B (moderate signal)
    FOXKTVG-DT Grade B (moderate signal)
    NBCKHAS-DT Grade B (moderate signal)
Which isn't even close. The transmitters are so under powered its not even funny. The only one (and its not even listed) that I can receive with out a couple grand worth of Antenna's (4 pointed various degrees south) sticking 20' in the air is PBS because they have a tower in the same valley as me.

All the others are 40+ miles away and there in the Platte River Valley and I'm in the Middle Loup River Valley which makes signal reception next to impossible as there's probably 800ft rise in the hills separating the valleys.

TDNI: You've got it easy compared to my area.

Between me and my local digital TV towers, I've got trillions of tons of granite reaching a mile higher than my house.
