- 06-09-2006 02:16 PM #13Very nice...though I bet that DPP64 switch will cost a bunch...probably $250-300. I like the idea of the DPP33 as it cheaper since I only have two receivers.

Scott, any details about so call "Dish Royalty" program?
- 06-09-2006 02:21 PM #15This is quite interested. The potential for PocketDish is there. I had mine since December and it has worked like a charm! Very happy customer with PocketDish.Charlie talks about how great the PocketDish is and he slips and says some new models are coming which have built in WiFi which we will hear about later this year.
I do not understand, Scott. What do you mean by "MOVED to the hard drive". The way the cable archiving works is that programs are copied to the HardDisk with the most space -- either the internal or external. Do you mean that first it has to be copied to the internal disk and then transfer or MOVED to the external Disk?He then showed the USB Archiving and mentions it will be available later this year for the 942 and 622, When you archive a show it is NOT copied to the hard drive, it is MOVED to the hard drive, this was done to satisfy the programmers.
This could create a bunch problems. I have yet to see a receiver that works flawlessly on Native Resolution. I know I won't touch it and stay away from it.Native Resolution is coming and will work best on TV's with HDMI where the receiver can detect what formats your TV supports.
This is quite a strong statement --- "exclusive". Exclusive in the USA?On the Screen it says that VOOM is a Dish Network Exclusive.
How is that possible? I thought that DirecTv had exclusive contract for these games (except the ones on local tv and NFL-HD and ESPN-HD)?They talk a bit about NFL and NFL HD and they mention that this fall they will be offering NFL games 6 days a week and say it will be much cheaper then the Sunday Ticket. They say more details about this are coming soon.

- 06-09-2006 02:25 PM #16Yep, I predicted this one. That's why we have VOOM-Lite.

Sean,
I'd guess D* holds the rights to live coverage, but that is it.

So these are going to be taped delay games?

- 06-09-2006 02:28 PM #20I would imagine this means that everything is initially recorded to the internal disk then you select what gets moved from the internal disk to the external disk.

Start thinking like you want to make the most money from your product (the NFL).How is that possible? I thought that DirecTv had exclusive contract for these games (except the ones on local tv and NFL-HD and ESPN-HD)?
I'm sure that DirecTV still has an exclusive contract for broadcasting the games in real time. But what it sounds like is that NFL-HD will be rebroadcasting HD games from the previous week on their channel via delay.
