Greg is spreading FUD. Pure and simple. I know he believes what he says, but it just isn't so. Dish takes thing to the letter of the law. The suit was about the analog distant channels and that is all they will cut off. When the CBS HD station isn't cut off, and IF Greg is right (and he isn't) there will be ANOTHER action that will take some quite a bit of time to resolve.

I know I won't have the last word. That is the miracle for FUD. But I want to hear from the any person that actually loses CBS HD on December 1. Put it on this thread. Only then will I belive it (and even then, I will look for other possible causes).

Some one can win a MEDAL made of a METAL like gold for showing his METTLE (courage)
If something is LOOSE you might LOSE it. Your=belongs to "you" You're short for "you are"

MUTE=Silent, unable to talk. MOOT= No loger relevant or important. "A mute points out a moot point."

This may cause more piracy. The channels that remain conus the hackers would still be able to pickup unless Dish chose to put the rest of them on spotbeams as well. The hackers would be able to pickup the locals from the spotbeams over them.

Thanks for the spell check now I hope your letter to your elected officials will spell everything right. That is if you have the time to send letters other than spell check ones. I hope you will share yours with us.

I won't know until well into December because I will be away, out of the country, when the kill data happens. I'll be looking for posts here to see what happens to CBSHD. It is my understanding that TNGTony is saying nothing will happen to CBSHD that it was not part of the kill order on December 1. Those who will lose distant networks will still get CBSHD from either WCBS or KCBS. And Tony- if you are wrong, I suppose everyone here will want to see you eat some crow!

I understand your feelings may have been hurt by his "critique" of your letter but whether you like it or not, poorly written (misspellings, grammar) letters will NOT get the same attention as a well written one.

If Dish keeps the distants still on Conus beam , there is nothing stopping Dish former distant network customers from "Moving" to get New York , L. A. locals . This way they could still keep their distants. All you have to do is google search movie theaters in New York, L. A. , Denver, etc and add an apartment number to the end of it and you would then have an address that would qualify for networks in that area. Keep billing your real address and change your service address to the new movie theater with an apartment number and you would still get distants. You wouldn't get the other sub stations but you would get your main networks. I wonder if Dish has thought of that as an alternative to losing all those rv and trucker customers. OF course they would have to depend on these web boards to put out the word about "moving" so they could get the word out.

There I just helped thousands of distant network customers by giving them a way to keep their distant networks after Dec. 1, 2006.

Sorry, but the analog NTSC OTA shut off has nothing to do with satellite TV.

Is that akin to helping to bake a cake with a metal file hidden inside to be given to your incarcerated uncle ?

I don't know if what you suggest breaks any law per say but it sure bends the hell out of it.
