Cool, Dish just gave me the HD channels since their website was incorrect. Can't complain now. Getting the HD channels with my Top 100. The way it should be.

That's insane.
You'll get a couple of new HD channels in your AT100, like Discovery, TLC and MHD. Animal HD is in AT200, and Science is in AT250, as I recall.

So if I want a couple of extra SD channels I need to increase my package too?

That's crazy!

Well that is because not every TV Service Providers packages are the same. But either way if you want more HD you will have to pay for it as Cable companies add more HD at some point time your rates will go up. Or you will have to choose another package to get certain HD Channels or SD Channels you will have to pay more to get more. I see what you are saying it should work that way if you pay for HD you should get all of the channels. But most TV Service Providers choose not to do it that way and no matter who it is in most cases you will have to pay more money. It's always been this way dont see it changing anytime soon. But for now at least with Dish your getting more HD for your money more than anyone else has out there. As other TV Providers add more HD to catch up with Dish dont be surprised if you see their rates increase overtime or half to pay more to get those channels. Either your rates go up or you have to choose a different package which no matter which you choose your going to pay more in the end.

Poke I've been with Dish 10 years and never complain. I gladly forked over the $39 fee today for external drive. But in my case having Top 100 the only thing I watch is HD. In my case to go from Top 100 to Top 250 I gain 2 HD channels for $22.00. The SD channels are of no value to me.

If HD is the future and Dish wants to be the leader, they need to stop pushing SD packages on the backs of the HD package.

Why do I even have to get an SD package at all? It's bull.

Since you don't have AT250 now, you obviously don't want The Science Channel anyway. Are you going to watch it just because it's in HD now? That's pretty shallow.
