Dish 622 Archiving New Features
You can now access the External HDD from tv2.

Dishonline connects your ViP 622/722 to ethernet broadband connection. Dishnetwork offers many SD movies and will be moving into HD soon.

New feature coming soon will enable you to enable timers via the internet for your ViP 622/722 If interested in testing this go to your account and look for Dish Online, Available Tomarrow.
Also if connected you can do away with the phone line fee.

Don: My Hdmi connection of my622 quit working this weekend, what can I do?
A: Probably a bad connection, call us.

Greg: I own a ViP 211 I only get signal strength of 35-45 do I need to get my dish re-aligned?
A: Yes call your local retailer to re-align.

Scott: How can I connect and operate a slingbox with my Tv2 output on my 722?
A: We are working on this to allow for control of the IR on your receiver.

Mike & William: I get a floating message when my remote is switched off Tv mode.
A: The message is to try to help people, to remember to switch their remote back to Sat Mode.(working on making it available to turn off this feature)


Brian: When you use a Seagate Free Agent External HDD after about 10 minutes it will go into sleep mode then you have to reboot it, is there a fix?
A: There is a software update coming to prevent it from going to or pulling it out of sleep mode.

AJ: When can we expect the software for the ViP 211 to enable it to use a External HDD?
A: We are working on and testing it, possibly the first quarter, and for the Vip 222 shortly after that

Ken: Are Muzack and Sirius channels in Stereo or Mono?
A: I Believe the Sirius are all in Stereo.

Mike & Sharon: My 622 is connected to a UPS, Can I run a regular network cable to make it work(because the homeplug device will not work thru the UPS).
A: Yes.

Dale: HD signlal strength from the 129 satellite is low, best signal strength I can get is 58.
A: Your signal should be higher, call your local retailer to check out your cable, connectors etc.

Dan: My 722 is nowhere close to my routers, can I install a homeplug device?
A: If it is wireless it will work.

John: Is it possible for my 722 to choose or change Tv1 or Tv2 to create a timer from the guide?
A: Yes and No , you can't pick at random the timer to choose. It will usually try to use Tv2. Look at Record Plus option under preferences it will give you some control.

Roy: I notice my dvr now has many more options, where can I find out more information? (5xx)
A: Name based Recording, check Dishnetwork.com \record.

Cindy: Why do I have all episodes and new episode choices on one of my 510 receivers and not the other one?
A: It has not been rolled out to all boxes yet, early December possibly.

Q: I just upgraded to a Vip 722 receiver about a month ago, is there a software update that will let Off air reception pass back and forth from Tv1 to Tv2?
A: Not planned now, only 1 OTA tuner for Tv1, we will look at it.

The $29.99 fee has nothing to do with using Sling with Dish Network. The $29.99 fee is if you want to use your mobile device (ie: cell phone) to watch content from your Slingbox. One time mobile fee.

so what will dishcomm actually allow us to do? if i have a 622 and a 211, can i communicate through the 211 and access the dvr and hard drive on the 622, to watch recordings over the powerlines on my 211 in another room?

The answer to the Muzak and Sirius channels question:
Are those channels in Stereo or Mono?

The answer is:
All Sirius channels are in stereo
Muzak channels 950 and up are in stereo
Muzak channels 949 and down are in mono and have the dynamic range very compressed (the loud parts of the music are not much louder than the soft parts of the music) for even background music / mental wallpaper.

DishCOMM is where say the 211 is plugged into a phoneline, the 622 will be able to access the phoneline via powerline to the 211 so you don't have to plug in the 622.

That is to buy the mobile software to watch slingbox and doesn't have anything to do with DISH.
