Amazing to me that they could have done this all along with the satellites/space that were already up there but chose not to ... too little too late for me I'm afraid .. I've already jumped and given the lack of Speed HD am happy that I did, but nice to see that there is life in the old dog yet
Well done Dish !! | They did not have the space until they got the new uplink centers working and were able to do spot beams on 61.5. They moved off NYC, Boston and Providence to spot, plus they got the Sky Angel TPs, that is 5 TPs in the last 40 days recovered.
This was done just to keep the retailers from rioting at Team Summit. You know business had to be hurting with the delay of HD. Now Dish has very close to the same number of channels that DIRECTV offers.

Most major cities have 2 or more and show all of their game broadcast in HD.
ETA: I do agree about CSNBA SD PQ. It is horrible. The HD looks a thousand times better.

They want to tell their shareholders their plan remains on track with 100/100 by the end of 2009. I wished that Dish could have launched couple of channels a week over the past few weeks (I'll take the 19 channels in a day, anyday!). They could have had several positive press releases in the market. They are doing well with their local rollout. I just hope that not too many people left for D*. This is going to a very busy week

By my count, they'll only actually be adding 17 HD channels (not that I'm complaining). We already had USA, Sci-Fi, and CNN, and RSN's shouldn't (IMHO) count.
Still, great that they're adding so much!!! I'm just surprised that it took so long...

I'm still not sure why Dish didn't just say more HD LiL in April and more national HD in May instead of going through all of this ''lots more hd by the end of April'' business.
Oh well, T.I.E.
