Directv has all the Indy locals in HD and all it takes is a phone call and a hundred and fifty bucks to switch and enjoy the Colts in HD. I have been loyal to Dish for all these years and I hate to go but come on Dish Network - South Bend Indiana ahead of Indianapolis is insulting. | I may be forced to do that myself only for the Buffalo Sabres Hockey Games this year. D* & TWC both offer them in hd.

So what does this mean for me? I have a Sony Grand Wega LCD rear projection with the following specs:
Resolution
1280 x 720
Display Format
720p
HDTV Ready
Yes
Input Video Formats
480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i
Will I benefit from this new technology?

I checked my guide this morning, and I don't see any new channels...
Guess it's going to be easy to hit 150, when we already have 114... | For once we are in total agreement!

Will I benefit from this new technology? | Not much. But it will still look just as good if not a little better. I wouldn't think you would have anything to worry about.

Someone can correct me, but I believe the 1080P content will only be coming over the internet connection to your receiver, not a satellite.

you tv will only display at 720p. it will downrez the 1080p picture to 720p.. so you might see a little bit of picture improvement since it is coming in at 1080p.

How is this "big" news if I have a VIP211 and VIP222? 150 HD channels...LMAO. 100 HD channels for me means I receive under 50, so 150 = under 75. Don't drink the Kool-Aid folks!

If the additional 36 channels are nationals or premiums then dish will reach 100 (real) Nationals by the end of the year - that is to say if you count premium channels as real nationals...

I just have 1 question. Where are they getting the bandwidth to do this? I have read a lot of complaints about the PQ going south already.

Obviously they don't have YES, you knew they didn't have YES when you ordered Dish, so complaining about it now doesn't make any sense. | My major beef isn't over YES; it is ultimately over the MSG channels only being in SD., and they have carried MSG and the Sabres Games, since I became a sub 5 years ago. They can pick up the HD feeds the Sabres games, because D* and TWC have it, and even the NHL Network has done live lookin of the Sabres games last season and they were broadcasting it in HD.
The E* HD subs in upstate NY really could care less about MSG in HD; just give us the Sabres Games in HD. The way it is now, the Sabres games show up on a Sports Alternative anyways and you have to search for the game channel.
