Leonardo World Leaving Dish Network

Sponsored Links
Leonardo World

DISH Network sincerely regrets that Leonardo World is stopping its broadcast and will no longer be available through any Pay TV Provider in the United States after December 15th. As a result, DISH Network will begin offering customers a new Italian channel, RAI News 24, which will offer more entertainment value. As of December 15, 2008, our subscribers will be able to enjoy this new channel 24 hours a day with 15 minute news bulletins every half-hour, offering close journalistic examinations on general news, as well as programs on weather, economy and much more.

RAI News 24 will replace Leonardo World at no additional cost in the Panorama Italiano package at the same channel number, 730.

Too bad it is going this was a pretty good channel. I actually liked it much better than RAI. I was only able to view it when shown as preview because the only to get it was by subscribing to the entire Italian package which was very costly. Too bad this channel is going.

NO! Not Leonardo Wor... wait, what is Leonardo's World? Was it anything like Wayne's World or more like Disney World? Did they air "As the World Turns" in Italian? Was it something to do with a tubular ninja turtle or a famous artist that was the namesake of such pizza eating amphibian?

(and where are all the typical "Typical Charlie can't keep any channels" threads?)

COOL! Are you gonna do that everytime a channel you never heard of gets canceled? Have fun...

My family tried to get into Leonardo World, but we're just used to RAI and canceled the $20 pack for the $10. Sorry for those who like it...

What a Retarded; stupid American who thinks he knows it all. Just cause You did'nt hear about it does not mean other people did not enjoy it.

My humble apologies. I must learn that sarcasm is a lost art form. I did not mean to belittle the station I never heard of, just wondering where the usual "typical e*" crowd was on this one. (and would like to direct this back to the subject at hand - the loss of an international channel)

I thought I would see what the station was all about, out of respect. It seems like they have been pulling back from international distribution for a while now. First the Canadian Version, then Virgin UK, now dish (despite the fact that Virgin UK and Dish still appear on their distributors page). Seems like they are focusing more on their native country than seeking international distribution.

Leonardo World sucked anyhow, mostly had the cooking show Casa Alica and the ocassional movie, guess Charlie isn't any closer to dealing with Fox (News Corp) otherwise he'd have SkyTG instead of RaiNews.
