Dishes DVR systems are just fine the way they are. They are not difficult to use and have worked just fine for 99 percent of the people I have installed. The only thing I would love to see Dish do is add a clock to the front of their receivers like some of the cable companies receivers have. Also would love to beable to change the EPG colors. The colors they use now makes it difficult for me to read them from a distance.

Making "new" the default for series might be nice, but I like the way it is now. I want to have the option of just an episode or all episodes ready and waiting.

I bet most of the time users select it to record a program once or all the new episodes in a series. Maybe, I'm in the minority, but having to delete repeats of the same episode gets annoying.

Select NEW from original air date/time and you won't have to.

I know, but they could easily make it so you have fewer clicks. They could have an option that says something like: "classic recording" ON/OFF? That way everyone is happy.
