Roxor,
To make it a little clearer.
TV1 and TV2 can both record HD at the same time or independently. But only TV1 though the component or HDMI outputs can output HD.
If you play an HD program though the TV outputs (RF, composite, etc) or the TV1 composite or RF modulated output then the receiver will down-convert it to SD.
Hope that answers your base question.

| The pip swap button works much faster. | I wish it did. But for me, pushing pip swap w/o a pip window, did change the channel, but it didn't get me Anamorphic out of the Composite Port (where my Sling is attached).

Check Dish site for current FW and you'll find model 1000 and other ancient too.
