| | | VIP612 L6.06 Software Last night I noticed my VIP612 software looked different. I first noticed the bottom of the guide wasn't cut off at the bottom of my TV. Also the menus look a little different and when viewing info. the HD Normal & SD Normal are in a smaller box.
I checked the Dish website and shows it was released 8/27.
Overall the menus look a lot cleaner now. Any ideas what else may have changed?

Yup, a lot easier to read on the first push. Did it always display what the satellite the channel comes from on the second push?

Noticed screen mode is no longer in big almost page wide box. HD SD modes shown in little box on left piled up now....as far I know that is new..Had 129w recognize problems in past, now working fine?
My DVR has acted funny since update; shows "now-recoding" in tuner 1 but nothing is recording...error 5..no red light on but recording???WUT? Nothing in schedule so I cannot stop recording or delete recording in progress...takes my HDD space....Rebooted receiver, restored factory defaults..still going on. Maybe forever...

Update: My Vip612 just stopped recording after a week. Now schedule is clear. I wonder how that can be, but it is OK now....go figure...

On the Broadband setup, it now has an option for a nickname for the receiver and an option to activate web access. It then lists a web site to do the activation.
