I have struggled to get ABC WPTY 24 to come in with a strong OTA signal at my home for months. Adding this channel has made my day!

Thanks for pointing that out.

I was just about to say that the SF HD locals might get less bitrate as a result, BUT you pointed out that they have reduced the number of error bits on the transponder to compensate.

So, they are using up 20% of the transponder for KRON, but they freed up 16.6% by using less error correction.

So, each existing channel will only lose less than 1%, but Dish uses statistical multiplexing, so you would only see any difference in the unlikely scenario when 2 or 3 of the channels have a lot of movement at the same time.

Yep I agree. They do seem to know a little more on the web chat vs calling in. I don't know why that is. I have had great luck in my experiences with the web chat, I don't bother to call anymore.

Wonder if AAD has found a way to get Dish to "lease" them HD feeds for NY and SF?

Thank you for the explanation...okay my next question is WHY KRON?

They add an idependent that shows nothing when they could have added the CW that airs new content.

I dont even have KRON in my guide...go figure.

What I thought was funny was back in Dec when Dish had the despute with Young Broadcasting and pulled KRON....they put up the link saying it was all Dish's fault. (
