Thread: Echostar Spotbeam and Satellite Utilization Information

I know several people have asked..."What's space is left on Ciel-2's Spotbeams?" I took the FCC data of all the transponders that make up each beam and listed them below. I went through the current TheList data to determine which beams are used and which are not. When I list a beam as being used I am not saying it is full and/or available. I am just stating that there are channels assigned to it. Generally the transponders are used one for each DMA. Typically we only see 4-5 HD channels available in each market. DishNetwork has shown they can provide decent HD quality of 7-8 channels per 8PSK transponder. So you do the math on what room is left on each transponder.

Each Spotbeam header links to TheList showing the Coverage Map and the channels allocated to the spotbeam sorted in transponder order.

I was going to add the market names on each transponder but that can change at anytime and we also have the data constantly updating on TheList so there's no need to duplicate data that I would have to keep up to date manually.
