They also added PIXL (channel 388) on December 1, 2010. It is also broadcast in HD.

This is a clear indication that Dish cannot come to an agreement with KQED about HD that is the same as the agreement they had with the other 30 PBS HD channels. Originally Posted by tomcrown1

But, 36 is not worthless - it shows network programs when they are pre-empted by local sports. Since Dish only had the channel in SD, then when your network show was pre-empted by local sports, you could only watch it in SD.
