NO way. I have never left DISH for any other dvr. I had the stand alone tivo and sold it because to me it sucked in pq compared to dish's dvr. I added Directv as well as my DISH account, for about a year in 2002 and again last January till this last June and had the HR 21 and it truely sucked. Now I would like to play with an Directv hd tivo but I wouldn't leave DISH. I am a DISH addict. I have to have all the latest receivers, dishes, lnbs . I know I am a geek but I love DISH better. Going on 12 years in January.

Mark my prediction, chances are there will be a new E*Tivo before the new D*Tivo

I know this may shock many but If Tivo is smart, they need to extend an olive branch to E* to settle, and agree to forgive most if not all the damages E* has to pay Tivo, in exchange for licensing Tivo's technology.
Charlie may be a risk taker, but he is also frugal, he will like to be able to keep as much of those money in the escrow to himself as possible, so E* and Tivo working out an meaningful agreement is real.
I only suggest Tivo does it before the judge renders his ruling, because once a no-contempt ruling is out, Tivo's leverage will be in the toilet.

Why would anyone with a 622/722 wish to downgrade to a TiVo? I believe cost, programming, yanking programming, and HD-Lite would be more significant factors when it comes to jumping ship over to D* and FiOS TV. The D* TiVO is a non-factor IMO.
