The sd quality varies greatly on Directv from channel to channel. I don't know about Dish. From what I have read the hd quality on Directv is a bit better than Dish, but if the programming on Dish is what you want, it is a better value, since they have an hd only package.

Over all Dish has Better SD PQ then D*, It seems D* SD Channels Vary a lot anymore , Some are good others look way over compressed. My Guess the 101 is PACKED FULL.
    HD TV D* wins IMHO.
Most of the HD channels look better then E* most of the time.
But at times E* has some better PQ then D*, But only like 20-30% of the time.

Completely agree with your PQ assessment. I just went back to E* after having a short (8 month) jaunt with D*. I couldn't handle the lack of responsiveness from the D* HD-DVR (HR-21 with AM-21). I am now happy again with my 722K.
Does anybody still play Age of Kings / Conquerors?

Who is your local telephone company? If it happens to be CenturyTel or Frontier, or TDS, somebody like that, you could bundle Dish with your telephone, internet and DSL.

DISH Network has a marketing agreement with WildBlue, but after you've had cable internet, you will not be impressed by the speed nor the pricing.
