Tivo vs E* (war zone portion)

Figured I would start this thread for the mods
Seriously, do you think the patent infringment made the E* DVRs what they are today? Is that why they are so good.
Also, IF your DVR gets shut off, what will you do? Stay with E* and hope they get something else for you to use? Change to D*? Change to cable?
Edit: yes I know that all of the DVRs are not in danger....yet

The problem is, TiVO fans and Dish subs do not visit the warzone.

At one time there was reason to subscribe to both, But now its really about the same, Unless you like movies,or Sports. Then you still need both.
