Yeah, I should add that the 722 UI seemed far more intuitive as well. Maybe it's a problem with the HR24 being 'overfeatured', but an 8 year old could pick up the remote control and use the 722 with no prior knowledge of how it worked. I've had the HR24s since February and I'm still trying to memorize where things are.

I can see points on both sides, but I wouldn't let the gui or guide be the reason to go with one over the other. Programming is always the biggest factor for me. Dish doesn't have the YES network, I'm staying with Directv!

I think that the VIP 722k is a far superior machine than the HR-24. 722 is much more user friendly, as was its SD predacessor the 625. The guide is much more pleasant to look at than directs, and with recent software/firmware updates to Dish networks program guides, I feel they have improved even more taking another step ahead of DTV. DirectTv only allows 2 Fav lists, Dish gives you 4 and they are easier to access. I think the channel lineup with Dish makes more sense as well. When used as a single reciever the 722 is leading the pack. In single mode you also have PIP functionallity. I haven't seen any program guide improvements from DTV in years.
