A lot of it depends on your own perception & how you feel you've been treated. There is always scenarios where 2 customers have the exact same services, equipment, etc. 1 feels cheated somehow & the other feels it is a good value for the money. My personal opinion, both providers are way overpriced for what they offer. TV isn't the same since the internet became a mainstay in many households. If you missed the evening news you can just watch a podcast, miss a ballgame, just watch the highlights, the list goes on & on. Again this is just my opinion, others may see it differently.

I have both. Both have their good and bad points.
Customer service swings both ways.
Dish is better sometimes and at times direc is better.

At the moment dish is better is customer service.
Thats just right now. Im sure that will change.

For the topic of Dish vs DirecTV just sit down and watch the South Park episode 'Douche and Turd' and things will become a whole lot clearer...

personally I would say Direct is probably worse for installations. I have seen where a direct installed barrelled the line multiple times and mount it in the middle of the roof where it did not need to go. All of Direct are subs so they usually do horrible work.

I think DirecTV has the edge due to the technology they have. Their system is scalable for just about any number of DVRs that the customer wants. They are not burdened or locked down by just 3 or 6 tuners like another company is
