    Free HD for life.

    ADVERTS 1
Hey everyone, I am looking into Direct or Dish, both have the free HD, but I don't want to do autopay. Is there anyway to get the free HD without autopay out of either one?

    TIA

I don't think so with Direct. And with Direct only for a new or returning customer is there even an HD for life at all. It does also require a minimum subscription level. For existing customers, they are only giving 2 years of Free HD.

With Dish they did have one way you could and that was by paying a $99 upfront, one-time fee. I don't know if that is available anymore.

Dish is a one time $99 fee

Directv there is a workaround....if you sign up through your Telco (if they offer this) you can bundle it. Directv considers this "auto pay" even though you may not have it through the Telco. Thats how I have it through Qwest (now Centurylink). And unlike when Dish had agreements with Telco's, Directv is just a passthrough. You call D* for all issues but billing. Then you call the Telco
Winegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... GeoSatPro 36" dish with Sadoun dual KU LNB... Coolsat 5000 on motorized.... Manhattan RS1933....Directv HR34 (yes the 5 tuner monster) GeoSatPro 200 to aim dishes.... few receivers not set up yet
Two 6 foot Fortec dish with GeoSatPro dual C-Band LNB "ghetto moved" to various C-Band satellites

I am a returning customer with Directv and I could not get the HD for life. Told me it was for new customers only. They gave it to me free for 1 year only.

I was a returning customer about 2.5 months ago and had no problem getting free HD for Life as long as I did autopay and have at least Choice + ( I think Choice + is the minimum ).
