Just curious, why do you guys have both providers?
- 12-13-2011 12:01 PM #6
for me its because I'm a "mover"
I wanted the locals from where I use to live. Dish carries them in HD, Directv doesn't.
Directv I'm in a contract til Feb 2012 and they carry my RSN in HD 24/7
If Dish would have allowed a locals only account like they use to I would have that. But for $3 more (locals only was 11.99) and I get a few extra channels its a pretty good deal.Winegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... I had C-Band in the mid 90's thought it would be cool to be able to camp and have tv, so I got Directv, UPN scrambled so I got Dish to get the superstations (Star Trek). Kept Directv as I quailified for the Distants and now it has 3D while Dish doesn't ... When I'm working I watch Directv when I get home and Dish (locals) when I get up, when off probably 60% Dish/40% Directv depending...

Those locals are 180 miles away.....aint gonna happen

(I have a AM21 for 2 stations in the market 70 miles down the road...the only two in the market)
So between Dish and DIrectv I have 2 full sets of locals + a 3rd CBS & FoxWinegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB....
