Is it possible to hook an old Dish 2700 receiver to a DP Twin lnb?
ADVERTS 1
I'm trying to connect an old Dish 2700 to my current lnb, a DishPro Twin. I can get either 110 or 119, but not both without switching cables at the lnb.
I tried using a Diseqc switch, but the 2700 must not know what to do with it, as it doesn't make any difference.
Is it possible to use some type of SW-21 or similar switching that the 2700 might recognize to accomplish getting both 110 and 119?
Thanks,
lavere

The DP Twin has a switch built in. The problem is that, as a legacy receiver, the 2700 can't send the DishPro switch commands or tune the band-stacked frequencies. You need to add a DP Adapter or swap out for a legacy Twin.

BobaBird,
Thanks for the reply. Is any other switching needed if I use either an adapter, or a legacy twin lnb?

The 2700 should show it is a 2800 upgrade in the sys. info. screen if not it is several software revisions out of date so you will need to let the software upgrade and you will probably need a new purple card (G3)
