Thread: loss of signal on playback 612

Hi All,

I have switched back to Dish from direct and have the Dish 500 with 2 VIP612's and a VIP722. Since the install, new dish and receivers using existing coax I have has issues with low signal strength 30-35 on 61.5. This causes error messages stating some of the program has been loss and skipping through shows recorded on my local channels here in Florida. I am waiting for the tech for the 3rd time, supposedly a manger this time or so they say. They have supposedly tightened the connections with no change and then replaced the LNB which lasted for about a month before the problem returned. (reported strength stayed the same) They claim the signal strength is high at the dish and it also reports ok at the receiver but the all 3 DVR's say the strength is as listed above never higher than 35 and flucuating all the time. Has anyone else had this probelm and actually fixed it. The recording of other shows other than on local channels has been fine. Thanks for the help

I presume there is ample line-of-sight from the dish to 61.5?

Such fluctuations have been caused by trees, bad wiring and bad lnb's
