IR extender/receiver on VIP722K

Hi,
I am trying to get the following IR extender (4 PORT IR DISTRIBUTION HUB) to work for my VIP722K my it is not. The signal works fine for the dvd player.. but not the VIP722K
Note: I ran a CAT five between the target and the hub - and then used standard emitters.
Any insight?
