dish 522 phone to eithernet
ADVERTS
does anyone know how convert the phone line output to ethernet on the 522 so i can hook it to the internet? i was told by an installer that this can be done in order to avoid paying the 5 buck fee because i do not have a land line. if not what model should i have them upgrade me 2.

Yep. Phone line to ethernet? I suppose you could get a VOIP service. There are some posts on this elsewhere.

522 does not have eithernet capablility, you either need to connect to phone landline or upgrade the receiver. Not sure about VOIP service though.

voip doesnt usually work. the rcvrs dont support data only for the phone modem. some voip services are voice and data, so if you have voip double check it will work; and get the dialout codes

Call dish and ask about Dish DVR advantage. They will waive the phone fee if you agree to the terms.
