NBATV channel unsubscribed problem, pls help! ADVERTS 1
From last week I can not receive NBA TV channel (9508) any more. The channel is inside the PlatinumHD package I ordered around 9 months ago. I have called customer service twice and received another box but still can not get it. All other channels in same package like MGM, UNIHD are all working. And I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps twice including checking the switch, signal strength, re-power on, re-download EPG information and none of them works. Now I was told to call customer service again a few days later and there is no way to send any one here
.
The box I have is VIP222 w/o DVR features. This is so strange. Does any one have similar experience? If this can not be solved I'm going to switch to comcast or directv. Since it's dishnetwork's problem, can I request refund of my payment etc?

This is going to sound stupid, but what do you mean by "can not receive"? Does it show up in your guide? What color? If it's not listed at all in your guide, make sure you're not looking a favorite list. Keep pressing 'guide' until 'all chan' appears, then look for the channel. If the channel is listed in red, that means you're not subscribed to it. Contact dish and get a rehit.

Tried the SD channel and got the same message. Both HD and SD are not working for NBA TV channel. I payed 10$ additional for PlatinumHD package just because NBA channel since this channel only appears in Choice Extra package from DirecTV, which is more than 60 bucks monthly. I guess I have to call Dish again, thanks.

Still not working
Well, finally a technician came but the problem is still not solved. There was a mistake in my previous comment. SD version of NBATV at channel 402 works but HD channel 9508 is not. Now the problem is forwarded to their engineer department and I have to wait again. I was told they are going to check the satellite side and I believe they are just kidding. I guess three days later I have to call Dish again to cancel my contract and switch to Comcast or DirecTV. Very disappointed

If I remember correctly,.....there is no more charge for Platinum HD. Its included in the HD package free....so u can call Dish & ask them to get u Classic HD with Platinum & save $10 every month.
I have SD only receiver & I get 402.....& now its 1 of my regular channel. I can understand ur pain

You may have better luck with Technical Support over the phone. There was a similar situation where a few HD channels that people were entitled to were in red on some of their boxes, but not others. The map down was not present either. It took several minutes with Tech Support, but they finally fixed. And no, a re-hit from the CSR did not work. Tech Support had to do some magic that they do.
