Thread: Does 322 and 311 work on new encryption?

I was a customer of dish 2 years ago. I am thinking of starting service again today to get the NFL network tonight for Bears game.

Will the 322 and 311 update to latest software or will they have to ship me a card?

Sounds like you have older receivers so they will have to physically send tou cards to upgrade to G3 technology. Some 322/311 have had there onboard cards updated but that has only been on recent exchanges.

They will upgrade to latest software but G3 isn't a software upgrade.

you'll probably need a software update too as those receivers do go through a few updates

but yeah you'll need the purple card

some of my customer told me that DISH charged them $40 to $50 to send out new 3g card for their old 301 or 311 receivers to activate them. Make sure with DISH if they can give you free or not. Even if they give you free then shipping will take about 3- 5 business days. You can go to local retailer and have them built new account and you will get all new receivers for free with installation plus the promotional benefit
