What do I need to do?

    ADVERTS 1
I have been in PA for the past year and have been using a 1000.4 dish (61.5, 72.7, 77). I have relocated to Texas for the winter. Yesterday I setup my 1000.4 dish and I am picking up all three satellites fine with good signal. I get all of my channels except for the NY locals (which I expected). I called DN to get the San Antonio locals and DN told me that I need to repoint to 110, 119 and 129 as I was in the eastern arc but I am now in the western arc and the S.A. locals are on 119 and [mostly] 129.

I do have a 1000.2 LNB. It is at home, but I can have it shipped to me. Can I just swap the LNB's on my dish and repoint it? Or do I need an new dish?

Need the 1000.2 sat dish if your locals are on 129 and 119. You can not simply replace the lnb and repoint on the 1000.4 sat dish. They are not compatible.

61.5 to 72.7 is 11 degrees of separation 72.7 yo 77 is 5 degrees of separation this is designed into the 1000.4 dish. 110 to 119 is 9 degrees of separation 119 to 129 is 10 degrees of separation so a 1000.2 isn't interchangable with each other.

If your going to be moving back and forth, you just need to get a 1000.2 for San Antonio and keep you 1000.4 mounted in PA.. If you have moved permanently just call dish to do a dish mover and get them to supply the correct Dish.

thanks for the responses. iguees i need another dish. i'll call someone local tomorrow to get one.

i would have thought the arm and the dish itself would be the same for both as it is stamped steel and the compensation for the differing degrees would be built into the LNB. The LNB's certainly do have a different look. on the 1000.4 two pickups (72 & 77) are very close together while the 3rd pickup is on its' own. my 1000.2 lnb all three pickups are separated almost evenly. oh well. thanks again
