OTA HD verus SD picture
ADVERTS 1
I have recently upgraded to the VIP622 receiver. My antenna is hooked directly into the receiver. My issue is that all of the OTA pictures show up in standard format. They do not cover the entire screen. When I plug the antenna directly into the tv the picture is fine.
Any thoughts? Is there a set up feature that was missed by the installer?
Thanks

HD channels supply image in widescreen, but not all programing is presented that way. You can use the formate (*) button at bottom of remote to stretch the image, but you will loose part of the image when HD programs are on. Your tv may be set to automatically switch between the two when connected directly, but the Dish receiver cannot.

Menu, System Setup, HDTV Setup...set aspect ratio to 16x9. Otherwise, as garys said.
