    722k "warmer" with ota module?

    ADVERTS 1
do the 722k's run hotter with the OTA module or is it just me?

I feel it from time to time and it seems warmer after the module was installed.

at one time the hdd high temp was 140, but now some how it has lowered to 138, the average is 122.

it sits alone on a shelf with about 6" clearance on both sides and 2'' of top clearance. is this enough?

would extra cooling be worth while?

I own this receiver and want it to last, and I have no problem adding extra cooling if needed.

i think so. I notice extra heat coming from the back corner where the OTA rests.

I have noticed that on my 722, if Im recording 2 things on the Dish tuners, and then my OTA tuner kicks on, the fans jump in speed a bit. So, it must be getting a bit warmer in that box.

    Most likely

It's more electronics in the box so I would think so. When I installed the OTA mod I left the cover off (the mod)so it could vent even better.

My K temps are running identical to my old 722 in same location.
