NASA still free to air?
ADVERTS 1
My neighbor is a ham radio operator. He had a dish receiver go out on him. He isn't trying to steal anything he just wants the NASA channel. His ham buddies tell him its still free to air. Any ideas that I can give him...........I'm sicking of hearing about it

You might do a search, there was thread a week or two ago about it now being encrypted on Dish. But they are still fta on C-band (including an hd channel).

Well that depends
If you take a free to air receiver and a 18" dish....the answer is NO. They encrypted it about a month ago. You use to be able to get Dish 101, Nasa and Angel One with that setup but now its just Dish 101
As for a previously enjoyed Dish receiver (with no subscription)? I dont know as both of my receivers here have old cards in them (one blue one yellow) but I use to be able to pick it up with those too.
It is still free to air on C-Band as noted above.Winegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... GeoSatPro 36" dish with Sadoun dual KU LNB... Coolsat 5000 on motorized.... Manhattan RS1933....Directv HR34 (yes the 5 tuner monster) GeoSatPro 200 to aim dishes.... few receivers not set up yet
Two 6 foot Fortec dish with GeoSatPro dual C-Band LNB "ghetto moved" to various C-Band satellites
