You can't use Picture in Picture on TV1 when TV2 is active.

That's it?
If TV2 is set to watch the OTA channels, can I still do the same on TV1?
What if I have a program recorded. Can I watch it at the same time on both TVs? For instance, let's say I am watching a recorded basketball game on TNT-HD on my HDTV and I'm at the thrid quarter. Can my son watch the same basketball game upstairs starting at quarter one?
Can TV2 do all of the functions TV1 can do? Like set up recordings, call up recording, etc. (in SD of course). What if I'm fumbling through the GUI on TV1? Can TV2 access a different part of the GUI too?

Weight of 622?
Quickly scanned 33 pages but must have missed if someone mentioned the weight of the 622. Could someone please provide info? Trying to decide if i'm going to put it on a glass shelf or not. Thanks, Gerry

But in "dual" mode, the receiver acts like each tuner is dedicated to to a separate TV, which I would imagine is quite useful for those that have TV's in different rooms.

The remarkable trick to this single-user/dual-user mode, that no one seems to comment on, is that it can be changed back and forth on the fly. A "feature" that I've obviously never used, given my setup, but it just sounds like it should be a complex process, but it's really just the push of a button.120inna55 E* ViP622 (L6.35) / E* ViP722 (L6.76) / DISH 1000.4 (61.5° 72.7° 77°)

I have my TV 2 for "guest" rooms. If I have someone over I take the DVR out of single mode.

Have my 622 setup
TV2 Works fine but the remote won't turn it on.
When I signed up I told the CSR that I was going to use one tv.
Do I have to activate it with Dish.
If so I will not.
Don't want the extra fee.
Thanks anyone.Last edited by Tedo; 03-01-2006 at 12:46 PM.

I think to watch OTA on TV2, you need to start recording the show to DVR and then you can immediately watch the recording in progress on TV2.
IIRC, this method was posted earlier. Someone please confirm/correct.
And no, you should not have to "activate" TV2 with dish. Ensure you move to dual mode by pressing the button on the TV1 remote.
