Widget malfunction
ADVERTS
Hi
I have a strange malfunction of the dishpointer widget today. We moored our narrowboat at 52.37321,-1.95368 and the website finds the location fine.
However, when I put the same coordinates into the widget on our
website
(or yours specifying Astra 2) it displays the latitude: 52.3505, longitude:-1.9633 Strange! Google Maps UK locates it OK. Any ideas?

Hi
Thanks. I think I already know what causes this - the widget still does a location lookup, so Google returns some coordinates, normally it would be the same when you enter coordinates instead of address details but I guess for some coordinates, especially on water, Google returns different values. I need to change the code a little bit and then it should work fine - like on the DishPointer.com page this is not an issue there.

Publicity for DishPointer
Just had an email saying that our Waterways monthly newspaper -
Towpath Talk
is planning to write an article about boaters' blogs with helpful links and they specifically mentioned the satellite finder page on our
Narrowboat Epiphany
website, which uses Dishpointer.
So if you can fix the widget, you could get a good amount of publicity from it. Could you let me know when it's fixed please, Alan. Many Thanks.

Hi Alan
Are you planning to fix this?
Because we are continually moving from one mooring to another, often in rural situations a fair distance away from housing, I am finding that Dishpointer is often locating the marker a significant distance away from where we are. If it would help I can give you a list of our recent GPS positions to see what I mean.
It's still a worthwhile tool - but could be even better.
Thanks.
