3GS and AR Pro ADVERTS 1

Purchased the app and hoping AlanSH can help me out before I post my experience to Itunes reviews.
It seems that there are no directions required since there are none,... but in reading these posts I've tried a few things without success.
I've opened Google maps and get the blinking gps indication, then I immediately go to the Dishpoint app and look for 119 and 110 with the internal compass ON.
When I point it up where I know the satellites are it gives me totally inaccurate results. For instance the satellites are reversed so 110 shows up to the right of 119 and lower in the sky. Also when I raise or swing my look angle the sats stay in the viewfinder when I'm totally not pointing to the birds.
Tried the website and it seems dead. Is this the only support avenue??
I feel I might have wasted $20 but I'll reserve judgement because it might be me not knowing how this works.
Any suggestions?
I'm in the US VI, could that be the problem? Look angle?
If so I would like a refund please.

Hi Alan
Thanks for posting here first.
Not sure why you think the website is dead - just checked it and it is up and running. You can also send support requests from the website if you wish so.
That 110 appears to the right of 119 is weird - that would mean that you are located South of the equator. At the bottom of the screen, the latitude is given, could you maybe let us know what it reads? It should be a positive number for Virgin Islands. I trust you don't get confused about the LNB line up on your dish and the satellites on the screen - they are indeed in reverse order.
The other weird thing is that you say that the birds stay on the screen when you move the iPhone. When the compass is ON then the birds should move when you move the iPhone 3GS(!). Could you maybe first check that the internal compass is working fine by opening the Apple Compass app and comparing it with a manual compass? Also 'play' with that compass a bit to understand how it works - for example, next to your computer, or keyboard it won't work very well as it is very sensitive to electromagnetic interferences. The DishPointer app fully relies on the values which come from the internal compass. If the numbers are not correct, the satellites on the screen won't be correct.
So, the two steps are:
1. Verify that the location is correct by checking the longitude and latitude values at the bottom of the screen. You can doublecheck those values with the values on DishPointer.com
2. Check that the internal compass is working as expected. Check that compass is enabled when moving the phone.
Hope this helps a bit and please let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the reply.
Today the website opened up but yesterday I tried several times.
I will play with this the next few days and see what happens. The lat long is showing correctly and the internal compass seems to be working.
It's possible I'm having a cell signal issue so I will report back my findings from areas with better coverage.
Very cool app if it works out, but it's hard to beat a good Clinometer.

Let me know how you get on.
But I can tell you that the app really works. It's so much easier to show a client why he has a no line of sight with this app than with an inclinometer.
