Dishpointer reality software for iphone 3gs
ADVERTS 1
I am a Dish Network technician looking to experiment with the dishpointer reality software.
When using this app on any of the smart phones, do I need to be in service with the carrier? For example, if I have an Iphone 3gs, do I need to subscribe to any service with At&T to use the app? Will the app have full functionality.
I heard rumors that the Iphone 4g may be coming out sometime in early June. Will this app work with the 4g?

Hi
You don't need a service, the location can be determined through GPS. Having said that, it is much quicker to obtain a location fix if the phone has internet access.
Yes the app will certainly work with the 4g.

For what you paid for your IPhone, app. and internet service, you could probably buy the cheap bird-dog. Hook it to your LNB and it will identify your sats for you. All you need to know is Pol. Good unit, have one I use occas. But if you want to peak within .5 dbm, you'll need a specann. Plus you can get min. 30dm sep. on Pol. with specann.
