    Dish on RV

    ADVERTS 1
I have downloaded DP onto my iPhone, but the dish is on top of our RV - 13' in the air! How do I (or where do I) stand and check if the line of sight is correct for my dish? I have a new Winegard SK1000 and it automatically finds the sats (100, 119 & 129). I'm from Alaska, but we are traveling the lower 48 for a few months.

    Thanks!

    John

You can do a coarse check, i.e. stand in front of the dish at normal level and check. If you've got clear line of sight (LOS), you are good to go. If there is no LOS but it looks like that there could be LOS, you need to do a fine check, i.e. you need to move closer to the point where the dish is. In really extrem cases, you would even need to do a very fine check, i.e. check along the rim of the dish that all parts of the dish have LOS.
