To the gentleman in the 96 green extended cab GMC with the wayne county plates, thank God for YOU that I was paying attention to your driving. Had you not had your head completely up your ass you would have noticed the stop sign that you ran at 50 mph, perhaps you would have also noticed the big grey chevy that I was ...driving, you know, the one that you ran off the road?
Yeah, THAT one. The one that was carrying my 2 year old daughter.
So again, I say thank God for YOU that I was paying attention to your driving. Have a GREAT day.

PS. In case you were wondering, the hand gesture was not indicating that you are number one.

My fathers house has a sunken living room floor which for a slab house sitting in a flood zone 15 minutes from the ocean front and the house itself sitting on a canal was probably one of the stupidest idea's the developer had. The room is 19.5' x 12' x5" and what I want to do is raise the floor because it has cracks allowing the ground moisture to seep in during times like this when the ground is saturated to max levels. Installing a wooden sub floor is out of the question as it wont solve the water seepage issue so I know that I need to pour concrete but what I'm wondering is if I need to break up the old floor or would I be able to pour in a 5 inch depth and if so what would I need to do to the existing floor and the concrete riser ( correct term for the supporting wall from the sunken floor that goes to the main house floor? ).

Thought I would ask here as I think I remember someone saying that they have done cement work in the past or may have had to have something similar done, I may also look at ambient floor heating as well.

After their 11th child, a hillbilly couple decided that was enough, as they could not afford a larger bed.

So the husband went to his veterinarian and told him that he and his cousin didn't want to have any more children.

The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that could fix the problem but that it was expensive. 'A less costly alternative, ' said the doctor, 'is to go home, get a cherry bomb, (fireworks are legal in hillbilly country) light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to your ear and count to 10.'

The hillbilly said to the doctor, 'I may not be the smartest tool in the shed, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me...'

'Trust me,' said the doctor.

So the man went home, lit a cherry bomb and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count!

'1'

'2'

'3'

'4'

'5'

( you'll love this..)

At which point, he paused, placed the beer can between his legs and continued counting on his other hand.

This procedure works in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee , Kentucky , Louisiana , Arkansas , Mississippi , Alabama , Georgia , Florida , West Virginia ....and Washington DC .

Since the start of fall and cooler temps all three of us have been fighting colds and flu like symptoms and sinus infections. We initially attributed it to our daughter going to school for the first time and bringing home all the new stuff she never had plus living in a military town near DC that had people coming in from all points of the world on a daily basis. At Christmas we were all sick with me having it the worst for a month so we went into a local clinic dealing with a true prick of a doctor and finally getting meds for sinus infections. A month goes by and we all get better and decide to have the duct work cleaned when we find out that there's a dark brown mold throughout the furnace and duct work and we have to reschedule to scrape the money together for the cleaning. Right after the tech opened up the furnace and found the mold some of it got stirred up and again we all get sick with respiratory problems so I start treating myself and family and we get the tech back out to clean the duct work.

So long story short, if you or your family is suffering with repeated respiratory issues and illness and other signs such as lethargy difficulty in concentrating and other issues that you can find online that are direct effects of mold exposure then have your furnace and duct work checked for mold and have the house checked for mold.
