ADVERTS
Killergaboca-
Everything you posted about your dish and switches is OK. If you have the Black Version 05 QQ Box, then you must open it and apply the tape to either the PCB or the end plate.
Realbigmike-
There are reports of QQ Box working in Win7 I have not confirmed that. Use the driver in post #116 and DVB Dream Manual previously posted. It should work OK.
The current driver goes into a serious error state when either a DishNetwork LNBF or a Ecoda 22Khz/DISEqC 1.0 switch are used in certain combinations. It can burn out the QQ Box.

Responses to past questions in this thread:
1. Front USB ports- often these are low power, they are still USB 2.0 afaik.
2. A quad LNB will not work with QQbox because those have a built in DishNetwork proprietary switch not compatible with DiseqC. You can switch the LNBs on the dish to legacy LNB and change the switches to DiseqC. You will need to purchase LNB adapters to affix them properly to the dish, fabricate something, or crack open the quad LNB and bypass the switch.
3. The heating issue with 22KHz and DiseqC - I am trying to find more details on it. However, switches do not affect the tuner card. They just wait for a particular frequency pulse to do their magic. DiseqC and 22KHz are compatible, however, it sounds like a driver issue that Adam has reported or perhaps a defective switch. Just installing the switches makes no difference to the QQbox. The problem must be from the drivers unless the switch you tried has a shortcircuit in it.
4. You can use a program called DVBlink to connect DVBdream or other software to Media Center 7.
5. When scanning, always disconnect diseqC or 22KHz switches to improve accuracy.Last edited by realbigmike; 02-23-2010 at 09:47 AM.

QQ Box Toroidal Coil Issue
The factory places a piece of insulating tape between the L103 coil and the Sharp tuner. It likewise would be good to place tape on the outside of the coil where is comes in contact with the enclosure.
See Pic.

QQ Box and DN Dual LNBF Dish 500
Realbigmike-
In my testing the QQ Box will not work with this DN lnbf even wired direct without a SW21.
The overheat issue seems to be generated by some flaw in the driver software. The capacitor should not get hot unles it is conducting Hi current AC. There is a H/V switching function in this section of the power supply and it appears the driver is switching it at an "AC" rate and causing excessive current in the filter capacitor.
But that is speculation because I don't have an oscilloscope to look at it.
One thing that puzzels me is that the driver supports DISEqC 1.0 but will not produce a DISEqC 1.2 command. Are they that different? LME tells me that it is a software/hardware issue. AltDVB reports the driver does not produce "raw diseqc commands". There is a transistor that shunts the LNBF voltage to ground to send the DISEqC 1.0 commands. Is that not true for DISEqC 1.2? You may want to go back to the schematic posted earlier.Last edited by 1ADAM12; 02-23-2010 at 10:02 PM.

DiseqC 1.2 and 1.1 have the same makeup as DisecQ 1.0. The only difference is 1.2 has more commands, so you can install up to 32 LNB's with a cascade of switches.
I hope you are wrong about the dish legacy LNB
I ordered 3 QQbox from ebay to test on and as soon as I paid, the quickly emailing seller quit emailing so he will probably ship them whether or not I want to cancel . The legacy LNB are KU circular with
LOF = 11250000 MHz
or
LOF = 11250 KHz
Am I screwed?

I did not spend any real time investigationg the DN LNBF issue. I tried the Legacy setting in the software in BlazeDTV only. I don't remember using the 11250 setting in DVB Dream, It may work. If you get the version 05 box open them up before you do any testing any inspect them for workmanship, Fiberglas dust and place a piece of electrical tape on the end plate or you may have tuner oscillations.
LME said they will be releasing a Linux driver for QQ Box. DISEqC 1.2 may work in this new driver. Chinese New Year holiday has ended now and they will be coming back to work.Last edited by 1ADAM12; 02-24-2010 at 08:53 AM.

Hi everybody
I am from Brazil and I am looking for a help about USB QQ-BOX DVB-S receiver.
I have just bought a Chinise QQ-BOX, so install the driver as well as the software that came with the CD's installation. Also I set the antenna to KU-C Band satellite(Amazonas-Brazil)).So far so good, but when I opened the PROGDVB and start the driver I can see only the strength signal bar working fine about 80%. The quality bar is not working, it stopped in 4%. I tried all the possible settings changing the LNB config, but I did't solve.
I had also tried to use DVBDREAM, but I can't iniciate the driver.
The driver is LMEBDA Driver DVBS7395.
Does anybody help me?

Hi ADAM
Thank you for your answer.
I had already got the driver and also read all the message that you posted here.
To be more specific I bought I black QQ-BOX from CN, also I got a CD which is include the software and divers.
I am using a Windows XP 32Bits, so I installed the divers and software and it seems to be working fine. Also I pointed the dish to KU-band satellite and aligned it using a decoder(receptor) .
Using this decoder I can get a good signal(90%) and quality(70%), so I suppose the dish is aligned correctly, once I can get lots of channel with this decoder.
So after that, replaced it and started testing the QQ-BOX, I opened PROGDVB or BlazeDTV. I start de driver and configure and set all transponders info as well the basic information.
Although the strength signal is about 70%, however the quality signal doesn’t move stopping in 5%.
The information about QQ-BOX are:
Sharp F7Hz7395
LME 2510C
Sometimes I can lock the signal, but when I start scanning for channel the light of lock turn off. Remind that the Power and Lock light are in read color.
Do you have any idea?
