ziggy, the shaft is 55mm. He used a piece of pvc pipe to shim it to the mount.

Start with a piece of 2in PVC pipe, cut it to the length of the straight part of the motor tube then make two lengthwise cuts to remove about 1/2in from one side so its like a C. This is for relief of the PVC as its compressed around the motor tube and also to make your life easier with the assembly.
