I've got an un-wired B.U.D. sitting out in the back yard just begging me to bring it back to life. I'd go with the following to get started in FTA:
Lexium DBS8000+PVR
DMX741U LNBF
Powermax PMA24 Actuator
PVRG6 Dual BLK Cable
RG6 Coax Stripper
F Connector Compression Crimp Tool
24 F Compression Fittings
6X8 Multi Switch
6 Surge Protectors
SF99 Signal Finder Kit
DMX522 Dual KU LNBF
WS24 Multi LNB Clamp

$500 eh...?
Since I'm up to my neck in C-band dishes...
I'd start with your 1.2m Ku dish package (Package #6) with the SG9120 motor for $325
Add a 2nd SG9120 for an existing 1m Ku dish - $79
And then tack on a Vbox $65
I'm sure the shipping would put me well over $500 after that...

At this time, that Trimax SM-2200 Digital Satellite Signal Meter/Finder looks like the best chioce. However, I would like to not lock myself into something, that when the time came, I could not switch.
My NEED right now is for some better batteries (deep cycle) to charge with my solar panels.Home base is 20 acres near N45.85 W120.58. Items in red wiped out by wind storm.
Lots of room for Ham Antennas HF, 2M and .75M and Satellite Dishes
Mercury II , -Fortec Star 5400-NA; Coolsat 6000; GeoSat DVR1100c ; 10 C-Band analog receivers - untested.
KU Band: Five Primestar 75E's , One carried mobile in motor home and one for recording G19, 1M Primestar for G19! GEOsat Pro 39" set up at 98072- but coming home shortly
0ne 85E to set up & a 1.2M to rebuild and test then use if I can
.
C-Band: Winegard 10 perf on a pole and (1 of) 2-10 ft, (1 of) 2~ 7ft mesh and 2- 6th mesh Winegards, waiting for concrete foundation
