Help a Newbie
ADVERTS
Hey folks
As a newbie in this free to air business I have a question or 2.
1. Do I need 2 receivers to receive signals fro AMC4 and Galaxy 19? I enjoy the religious programming on both.
2. I have a Satcruiser DSR-101+. It does not list Galaxy 19. Do I need a new receiver or can I add galaxy 19?
3. What do you think would be the best receiver?
Thanks for your help.

Sat
You should be able to add a satellite in the setup menu, I would think. I don't have a receiver like yours but I have several and each allow you to manually add a satellite. You will need some information for your satellite you wish to add. I think most of that can be gotten from Lyngsat...
As for what choice of receiver...That would be a hard choice for me today. I'll leave that for the experts here. I like the boxes I own currently for different reasons...I would like to get a newer box but I am happy for the moment..

NO, you need either a dual LNB dish from Glorystar (SatelliteAV) or two dishes - but only one receiver.
I don't know that receiver - but usually yes. Maybe someone else can weigh in on this.
For religious broadcasts I would get the GeoSatPro DSR 200C from SatelliteAV. Get the whole setup - dish, switch, dual LNBs and receiver for under $200.
BobCoolsat 8000HD: 1.2m dish mounted on SG 9120 motor
GeoSatPro DSR200: T-90 dish
Dish 211K: Dish 1000.2@110,119,129 (Public Access/Interest channels and Dish Welcome package).

Welcome to Satellite Guys

Welcome to Satellite Guys!
Only one receiver is needed. I'm not familiar with the SatCruiser but it should be whatever satellite is listed at 97W (might be listed under another name).
GloryStar has a setup that can get both 101W and 97W for all the Christian shows there. If you need to pick just ONE satellite pick 97W because many channels just moved from 101W to 97W.
Check out the section below on GloryStar they may be what you are looking for.

the G19 sat might be listed as one of the following
T5
IA5
G25
G19
probably T5University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs mens hockey team
Defending National Champions
current number 3 in the country (but doesnt mean much honestly)
number 3 in the pairwise (this means everything...top 15 teams get in the tourney)

WELCOME!
And WELL---- to answer that question, for our place we need 4 recievers to get G19 @97W --- One for each TV / room....
But as you see, the answer (or one tv) is NO! As others have said...
The best reciever is up to you, but PLEASE read up ; and ask before you buy any reciever that does not come from one of the GOLD SPONSORS listed at the top of the page. They have reasons to supply you the best for your money. They rely on multiple sales from satisfied referals and customers, not from rip-offs, so they will probably make you happy.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys.
There is a tutorial on
this page
on how to add channels on Galaxy 19 (Listed as Telstar 5 on the Satcruiser.)
I hope this helps.
