Question DTV Pal DVR for Satellite Recording?

    ADVERTS 1
Does anyone know if a DTV Pal DVR for OTA would work as a DVR for FTA? I am thinking that if you were outputting to your TV with the channel 3-4 coax that it may be possible to put a DTV Pal in between and record with it. I know there are other cheaper ways to record, but if someone already had one could it be done?

There are no video inputs on the DTV Pal. And the tuner is ATSC only its not an analog tuner.

It would infringe on TIVO if it had those inputs. Too bad no one manufactures a converter to output a digital signal like the old units that delivered analog channel 3 or 4.

wouldn't it be cool if someone(s) came out with ATSC in-house modulators to distribute video/audio and then one could take those composite video signals, feed it into an ATSC home distribution modulator and then send it by coax to any device with an "antenna in" that can tune that ATSC signal and record it?

There are ATSC modulators for commercial use at the moment that could be used, but they ain't cheap.
