Anybody using a Openbox with a SG2100 motor?

    ADVERTS 1
I know a lot of folks have the openbox but I havent found anyone yet who is using a SG2100 with it.

So I got mine and hooked it up to the SG2100 I have. Scanned in 93W and started motoring across the arc. Got to 97W and scanned. All H transponders showed up but only 1/2 the Vertical ones did....hmmm nothing above 11950 or so
Moved to 125 and scanned. Again all the H transponders worked fine but vertical was about 1/2. While it scanned in PBS and PBS HD the quality was low (40's).

So I moved it back to 93W and hooked back up the Coolsat. Slaved the Openbox and tried again. Moved to 125, powered off the Coolsat (standby mode) and rescanned with Openbox. Got all channels at great quality and even logged OETA at a 80+. I thought 76 was the max?

So I ran a temporary cable from motor to openbox...same issues as before
So I tried my other motorized setup (which is another SG2100)...same issues

So I hooked the SSO to my diseqc switch which is a feed from both motorized and G16 C-Band (the azbox normally uses this)....scanned flawlessly on all 3 sats even with no other power from other units

So for fun I hooked up my old Pansat to the motor then slaved the SSO from that. Left the Pansat off and used the SSO like normal. Worked fine. I wonder if the SG2100 is doing something off the wall with the SSO but I figured I'd see those issues with horizontal polarity, not vertical.

So is anyone using a SG2100 and the SSO and it works?
Or better yet does anyone use it with just a KU motor? (I know lots of folks have it with C-Band setups or slaved)

I have that setup but it is a Solomand from Sadoun first batch running the newest firmware from his site not an Openbox. I am not having any of those problems.

Ice...I had an issue months ago where the SG2100 was off a degree or so on 97W. The Sg2100 I have has a lot of play in it though. Sometimes it's off a degree or so as I pan the arc. I started wondering why I was missing channels so I checked the signal on several Tp's and noticed only a few were way down. Most were 70% but a few were 40%. I bumped the dish a degree and rescanned.....problem solved... No other problems using the SSO and SG2100 as far as scanning in channels....I've noticed the OETA has been stronger than usual too...Blind

I know the motor isnt off as the Coolsat shows good signal across the board for signals (all 70+ on Coolsat)

Maybe you are putting out more that 14 volts when you are on a Vertical Tp?? Going through the switch or the loop through on the other receivers is enough of a drop in voltage to make LNB work.

It was unclear when you slaved the SSO to the Coolsat and Pansat, just who did the moving.
I'm wondering if the SSO is calculating the motor move a little differently?
And so it might actually put the dish slightly off the satellite.

Alternately, how 'bout checking the LNB voltage in Vertical when using the SSO?
As we discussed in another thread, that should be quick 'n easy to do.

When I slaved it to the Coolsat or Pansat the receiver was in standby and the SSO did the moving
