which satellite motor is more tolerant of a long cable run?
ADVERTS 1
Since I'm going to be facing a long cable run, cable resistance will approach and possibly exceed diseqc specification. Each motor probably handles the voltage drop due to resistance differently, so I'm trying to pick one out that might best succeed for my setup. All features/performance comparisons between the different motors are unimportant to me, just so long as the motor works at the greatest cable length.
The following are motors that are easily available in the market:
Satcontrol SM3D12
STAB HH90, HH100, ...
Motech SG-2100
Does anyone have any experience with these motors in long cable runs? If so, how long is the run in your setup? Had anyone compared how well the different motors work with respect to each other for the same setup?
I assume probably installing a smaller dish might also alleviate the problem. In that respect, if the HH90 is designed for 90cm dishes or smaller, do you think it might be less power hungry than the others? thanks
